or a Parent or Grandparent of that person was married in the parish. To discuss this further with us please contact the church office.
BaptismsChristian baptism is about believing in God and belonging to the church family. Adults are baptised into the church family upon public profession of their faith in Jesus Christ. Children who are too young to make this profession for themselves can be baptised into the church family if their parents intend to bring them up within the church family and in a knowledge of the Christian faith. When older, the child will then be able to "decide for themselves" and profess their own faith in a service of confirmation. Those asking for their child to be baptised at St Peter's church will be asked to attend a meeting where this is explained in more detail. Thanksgivings
For parents who want to celebrate the birth of their child we offer a service of thanksgiving. This act takes place during the main Sunday morning church services.
