Parish Office

The Parish Office (over in the Church Hall) is available for booking Baptisms and Weddings on Monday evenings between 7pm and 7.30pm .

Weddings

If you are planning to get married and have a connection with St Peter's, then you can apply to be married in our church. What this means is if that person:

or a Parent of that person has at any time during that person’s lifetime:

or a Parent or Grandparent of that person was married in the parish.

To discuss this further with us please contact the church office.

The Church of England has a useful website at http://www.yourchurchwedding.org/
with lots of detail about getting married in church.

Baptisms

Christian baptism is about believing in God and belonging to the church family. Adults are baptised into the church family upon public profession of their faith in Jesus Christ. Children who are too young to make this profession for themselves can be baptised into the church family if their parents intend to bring them up within the church family and in a knowledge of the Christian faith. When older, the child will then be able to "decide for themselves" and profess their own faith in a service of confirmation. Those asking for their child to be baptised at St Peter's church will be asked to attend a meeting where this is explained in more detail.

Thanksgivings

For parents who want to celebrate the birth of their child we offer a service of thanksgiving. This act takes place during the main Sunday morning church services.
Weddings, baptisms and thanksgivings can be arranged by contacting us using the Contact Us link on this website
